NCAA athletics has become the new prohibition – the illogical construct that creates a destructive underground economy because leadership is being guided by an illusion of what should be, rather than confronting the NCAA for what it really is: a professional sports league. Some of our most highly educated figures within academia are forced to convince themselves that a multi-billion dollar sports entertainment behemoth should be able to get away with not paying its primary employees.
Selected for their potential to succeed or for their potential to become indebted? Many are now questioning the targeted recruiting practices of for-profit colleges.

As a college professor for the past 16 years, I’ve noticed two things about college: It can be a place to make your dreams come true, and it can also be a breeding ground for your worst nightmares. So, I thought I would compile a list of things that I’ve seen college students do to ruin their lives over the years. Hopefully, you and your child can learn from what I am about to share.
An 18-year old student at the University of Cincinnati was killed this weekend after being stunned by a police taser. Everette Howard, a student in a summer program preparing him for college, died after the attack. In 1827 a group of black businessmen were fed up with the negative depictions of African-Americans in their local newspapers, so they decided to start their own. A few months later America’s first, ‘race’ newspaper was born. At the helm were two young black men; 28 year old college graduate John Russwurm and 32 year old preacher Samuel Cornish. Freedom’s Journal, as it was called, made certain every article and editorial had a deliberate slant that showed blacks in a positive light with dignity and class. Cornish and Russwurm knew they not only had to report the news but they had to inspire as well. Any news worthy item involving "Africans" was to be included.

I did not graduate from Morehouse College or Howard University. Neither did Sean Combs or many of this week’s readers of the “Howard v. Morehouse: Nation’s Football Classic Trash Talk” group page on Facebook. However, while at Spelman, I DID take one psychology class at Morehouse, served on the Miss Maroon & White court, and strolled in front of Kilgore Hall to Juvenile’s “400 Degreez” album enough to earn me at least 36 credit hours in Drama and Dance. Thus, I attended Morehouse College and I have granted myself with the right and the privilege to defend the institution whenever there is a need.

I saw a headline today involving Pastor Jeremiah Wright. The headline stated the following: "Jeremiah Wright’s Church Denomination Banishes ‘God the Father’ for Gay Inclusion.” The headline was interesting in that it almost seemed to imply that Jeremiah Wright had made the decision himself.
What was most peculiar about this article is that it was dead wrong. First, Pastor Wright has not been the head of The Trinity United Church of Christ for at least two years. Therefore, he doesn’t make the church’s decisions. Secondly, the United Church of Christ is a national body, meaning that even Trinity itself cannot make such a decision. So, the goal of getting Pastor Wright’s name into a juicy headline played a dominant role in how this article was written.
After Lloyd made an appearance on MTV News people were curious as to whether he was trying to be like Mr. Miguel with this “suspect” hair cut. Miguel even thought the same, taking to Twitter to express his thoughts by saying, ‘Imitation Is The Highest Form Of Flattery. Shout To Lloyd’…

Lindsay Lohan actually looks pretty nice, better than I thought she would being that she has let drugs and alcohol take over her body.
She looks like she sat the bottle of booze down for a second so that she could show out in the Italian Vanity Fair.
